The guest seemed out of control entered the elevator and pulled the stop in the which is equivalent to pulling a stop on the train, she also pulled the fire button and there was no fire. These claims do not concur with our other reviews. Again, the room was decent for the price, but with all the issues and horrible customer service, I would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.… You can hear everything through the wall. If you have another guest next to you that is loud or in and out all night, do not expect a good night sleep. Why should this have to be done when it’s listed as included? The Hotel is older, and please note that the doors do not gently shut but rather slam shut. Upon contacting customer service I was told that they did not have available on site, but I could purchase myself and then submit a receipt for reimbursement. The body wash was a small problem, the hair disgusting, but shouldn’t these things be checked between each guest? The room was advertised to have cooking oil, salt and pepper with the kitchenette we had purchased food to make breakfast to only find these items were missing although advertised. The bathroom had hair along the wall from the last guest, and when going to take a shower, the body wash container was completely empty. The limited customer service you get from this company is appalling, and the fact they try to blame fault on their customers. If this button truly exists, this is a serious safety concern in my opinion. We got stuck in their elevator for almost an hour, but yet they are not willing to take any accountability. I pushed the button to my floor, nothing more until it was stuck. Working with customer service that is offsite the hotel has been awful, and 48 hours later I was told that there is a reset button inside the elevator cab that cuts off power supply to the elevator causing it to get stuck. The first night of our reservation we got stuck between the 2nd and 3rd floor in the elevator for a little under an hour after pushing the panic button with no answer, we had to call 911 and have the NYFD pull us from the elevator up onto the 3rd floor. The next time we're in New York, the Historic Blue Moon will be at the top of our list of places to stay.… A definite gen and a bargain for what we paid. The bathroom was spacious, including a bathtub (which was a pleasant surprise). We didn't have a chance to use the induction cooktop, but it was nice to have, as was the small fridge. The blackout blinds were much appreciated. If you're in New York in the heart of the Lower East Side, you're going to hear some noise). Although the room was street-facing, it was not too noisy except for Saturday night (but again, nothing unusual for New York, and nothing the provided earplugs couldn't deal with. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable. The room we stayed in was a very good size, especially for New York. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, with the hotel being small enough that everything felt like it had a really personal touch. The location, in the Lower East Side, is unbeatable for anyone who wants to stay in Manhattan but wants to avoid the overly touristy Midtown scene. Almost certainly this is the best hotel, or at least our favourite, that we have ever stayed at. If we could give 10 stars to the Historic Blue Moon we would.
